About Cotter Pins
A cotter pin is a split fastener inserted through a drilled hole in a bolt, shaft, or clevis pin to prevent it from backing out or disengaging. Once bent open after insertion, it locks the assembly in place — simple, reliable, and used in nearly every piece of mechanical equipment.
Clear zinc is a chromate conversion coating applied over the zinc plating.
